How to VW from a course at U of M
After the revision period has over, a student might stop attending class voluntarily (VW). It implies that you won’t receive credit for the work you’ve already completed and won’t get your tuition money back. VW will also appear on your official transcript.
Using Aurora Student, you must formally withdraw from a course by the end of the VW deadline. You are not immediately withdrawn if you stop attending lectures or do not pay your tuition.
A VW should never be your first option when you have issues; instead, you should always consult an advisor. Scholarship, on-campus housing, and student loan eligibility may all be impacted by a VW.
- Log onto Aurora
- Click on Registration
- Click on Add or Drop Classes
- Select the term of the course you are registered in*
- A list of courses that you are registered in will appear. Choose the course you would like to voluntarily withdraw from. On the Action column, from the dropdown menu select Voluntary Withdrawal Web**
- Click Submit Changes.
Students who have holds on their accounts may not withdraw from courses. Consult a representative in your home faculty for assistance.
