NSFAS Applications For Trimester 2
Trimesters is when a college divides their academic year into three part, the three parts amount to around 12 to 13 weeks each. After each session, students go on a break and then return for the following trimester.
The financial aid scheme announced that Trimester 2 applications for NSFAS funding will open from 13 May 2024 and close on 31 May 2024. This gives students two and a half weeks to apply.
NSFAS COVERS THE FOLLOWING EXPENSES
NSFAS funding for TVET College Students cover a variety of expenses, including:
- Tuition fees
- Registration fees
- Living expenses
- Transport costs
- Textbooks
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE NSFAS BURSARY
To qualify for the INSFAS Bursary, you must meet the following requirements:
- You must be a South African citizen.
- You must be studying at any TVET College in South Africa in 2024
- You must intend on studying at any TVET College in 2024
- You must be studying or intend to study any trimester engineering course
- Your total household income threshold should be R350 000 or less OR R600 000 (if living with disability)
NSFAS BURSARY REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
- Your certified ID copy
- Your parents or guardians certified ID copies
- Your parents or guardians payslips (If working)
- NSFAS may require additional documents such as a marriage certificate, proof of legal guardianship, SASSA grant recipients, disability annexure form, IRP5 form, death certificates if your parent(s) is/are deceased and divorce certificate if your parents are divorced
NSFAS Application Process
- Visit the NSFAS website
- Go to the ‘myNSFAS’ tab.
- Sign up for a myNSFAS account.
- On the ‘APPLY’ tab, complete the sections.
- When applicable, upload the required supporting documents.
- Submit the form by clicking ‘Submit’
