According to the published recruitment announcement, Yas Tanzania is inviting applications for four positions: Data Analyst – Risk and Compliance, Application Support Engineer (L2), Sales Area Manager – Dar es Salaam, and IT Service Desk Support Engineer. 1. DATA ANALYST – RISK AND COMPLIANCE
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative discipline.
- At least 5 years of progressive data analytics experience, with at least 2–3 years in a telecommunications or financial services regulatory environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Support the daily quality assurance programme by performing structured data analysis and audits across SIM registration controls, KYC completeness checks, and other compliance control points.
- Analyse registration datasets to identify anomalies, data gaps, and control failures across SIM card registration, producing actionable findings with supporting evidence.
- Monitor the barring process by ensuring the barring cycle is completed through data analysis to identify anomalies.
- Validate that SIM registration records meet TCRA requirements, including biometric capture, NIN linkage, subscriber identity verification completeness, and other relevant requirements.
- Conduct routine and ad-hoc audits of internal compliance processes, flagging deviations from policy and tracking remediation through to closure.
- Track fraud, KYC, and AML KPIs/KRIs, producing regular intelligence reports for the Risk & Compliance team.
Competences
- Experience in regulatory reporting, compliance analytics, or risk data management.
- Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins, window functions, aggregations, and performance optimisation.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language, with Python strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with business intelligence and visualisation tools such as Power BI,
2. APPLICATION SUPPORT ENGINEER (L2)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics, or another technology-related field.
- Knowledge of system administration on UNIX/Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
- At least 2–3 years of work experience in a business applications support role will be an added advantage.
- Working knowledge of database programming, PostgreSQL (PSQL), and Transact-SQL (T-SQL) will be an added advantage.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide support for critical applications in the company.
- Perform definition, execution, and maintenance using server-side scripting engines.
- Gather and analyse application logs and performance metrics, working with team members to troubleshoot and debug application issues.
- Identify process improvements for support-related functions and other processes, such as testing strategies.
- Identify and implement improvements to application logging, reporting, and monitoring.
- Participate in post-mortem discussions around software-related production incidents and communicate technical issues and resolutions.
- Work with third-party vendors as needed on vendor-related support requests and issues.
Competences
- Good knowledge of system integration and standards.
- Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a high-pressure on-call environment with changing priorities.
- Solid scripting skills, such as shell scripting and Perl.
- Working knowledge of system administration on UNIX/Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
- Team player with a high level of integrity.
3. SALES AREA MANAGER – DAR ES SALAAM (DSM)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or another related field.
Core Responsibilities
- Ensure the correct implementation of sales and marketing strategies.
- Address customer requirements from points of sale and distributors.
- Provide training and coaching to sales teams.
- Review and analyse weekly sales of assigned areas and distributors by region.
- Promote the adoption of promotions for channels.
- Coordinate monthly sales review sessions.
- Support Mobile Financial Services (MFS) initiatives in the territory.
- Contribute to monitoring the execution of branding campaigns.

4. IT SERVICE DESK SUPPORT ENGINEER
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of work experience in an IT Service Desk Support Engineer role will be an added advantage.
- Excellent working knowledge of relational databases, including MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle, as well as SQL and ORM.
Core Responsibilities
- Monitor all critical YAS applications 24/7.
- Handle incoming faults professionally and courteously over the phone and through the ticketing tool.
- Take ownership of faults and manage them in a logical and methodical manner.
- Log incidents and faults correctly, categorising and prioritising them in line with team procedures.
- Conduct full and thorough diagnostics with end users to enable first-point-of-contact fault resolution.
- Ensure all faults are progressed and cleared within the Service Level Agreement (SLA), escalating to other internal and external teams as appropriate.
- Manage faults throughout their entire lifecycle, from the first point of contact through to resolution, proactively.
- Diagnose and resolve problems to the customer’s satisfaction.
- Maintain and develop personal knowledge and skills to assist with first-time fault resolution.
- Identify and escalate recurring issues or service risks to service management teams.
Competences
- Experience in system testing and monitoring.
- Good knowledge of system integration and its standards.
- Basic knowledge of networking, including OSI network layers and TCP/IP.
- Team player with a high level of integrity.
