POSITION: GENERAL PRACTITIONER – TWO (2) POSITIONS
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide comprehensive medical consultation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care to patients.
- Conduct proper history taking and physical examinations.
- Request and interpret appropriate laboratory and radiological investigations.
- Manage common medical and emergency conditions appropriately.
- Refer patients to specialists and other healthcare professionals when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient medical records.
- Participate in emergency care and other clinical duties as assigned.
- Provide health education and counseling to patients and their attendants.
- Participate in ward rounds, outpatient services, and other hospital clinical activities.
- Adhere to hospital policies, professional ethics, infection prevention and control procedures.
- Work collaboratively with nurses, specialists, laboratory staff, radiology staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Perform any other duties related to the position as assigned by the Medical Director or Hospital Management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Holder of a Doctor of Medicine (MD) Degree or equivalent recognized medical qualification from a recognized institution.
- Must be registered with the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT).
- A valid practising licence is required.
- Previous experience working in a hospital, health centre, or similar healthcare setting will be an added advantage.
- Experience in emergency and outpatient care will be an added advantage.
- Good communication, interpersonal, clinical, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Must demonstrate professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and commitment to patient-centred care.
