There are many online platforms where you can find your matric results. This is usually the best way to do it because it is instant and you can use any smart device.
The Department of Education will have all of the matric results posted to its website as soon as they are released. To access them, all you have to do is:
- Log on with your Examination Number
- Your ID number
- Your details
If you are from a private school that was part of the IEB, you can follow the same steps on the IEB website. Keep in mind that IEB results might be released slightly earlier than government school results.
News24 is a notable news platform that has a specific webpage for the matric results. They will release the matric results as soon as they are released by the education boards like IEB and the DoBE.

- You will be required to answer some multiple-choice questions.
- Enter your ID and examination number.
- You will then receive your matric results.
Newspapers
This is the old school way of getting matric results that many people still use. This is especially popular amongst adults who are eager to see the state of matric education in South Africa.
In the Eastern Cape, a popular newspaper that will most likely have the matric results is the Daily Dispatch. Other newspapers may include HeraldLive and the City Press.
