How Do I Get My SASSA Reference Number?

1. Retrieve Through Whatsapp

If you want to retrieve your reference number through WhatsApp, simply type “SASSA” in the text box and send it to SASSA’s official WhatsApp number 082 046 8553. They will respond immediately by providing you with a complete information manual.

Now, simply type “Yes” in the text box about finding reference number and send it to them. They will provide you with a series of steps. Follow these steps to find out your reference number.

2. Retrieve Through SASSA USSD Helpline Number

This is yet another very simple way to retrieve your SASSA-allotted reference number. Simply, dial *120*3210# in your cell phone and submit this number.

This helpline number code will be immediately processed and you will be provided a detailed instructions manual.

Follow the steps provided in this manual and by the end of it, you will receive a message containing details of your application status and reference number. However, in case, the aforementioned helpline limber does not connect, you may also try their other helpline number: *120*62277#.

3. Retrieve Through Voice Call

Retrieving your SASSA reference number through voice call is the simplest method by far. All you have to do is dial 0800 601 001 on your phone and give it a ring. You will immediately receive a manual, Type 1 in the text box and let it process. Once it is processed, you will be connected to the SASSA assistant who will give you a series of commands. Follow these commands to retrieve your reference number.

What is application id?

The application ID is a unique identifier assigned to a SASSA grant application. It is a reference number that is used to track the progress of the application and to identify the applicant’s details in the SASSA system.
When a person applies for a SASSA grant, they will be assigned an application ID once their application has been received and processed by SASSA. The application ID is usually sent to the applicant via SMS or email, and it is also included in the application confirmation letter.
It’s important to keep the application ID safe and to use it when communicating with SASSA about the grant application. The application ID can be used to track the progress of the application, to check the payment status of the grant, and to make any necessary changes or updates to the application.
