The Gauteng Provincial Government has come up with the “Hoi Hoi Gauteng” campaign to boost the skills of the labour force in the region. There are over 480,000 training opportunities available that highlights this initiative as one of the pillars of Gauteng’s strategy to create economic growth and enhance social transformation through the development of a competent and adaptable labour force.

The Difference between Abolova baseKasi and Nasi Ispani

The Abolova baseKasi Skilling Intervention Programme and Nasi Ispani are different programs with different goals and context:

  1. Abolova baseKasi
    • Strives to offer skills training for active unemployed youths in areas such as brick laying, electrical, carpentry, welding, and other trades.
    • Participants receive a monthly stipend of R3,500 during training.
  2. Nasi Ispani:
      • A different program or initiative not directly related to the Abolova baseKasi Skilling Intervention Programme.

Key Objectives of the Initiative

Economic Empowerment: Work on the direct causes of unemployment through provision of hands-on employment oriented training.
