Mbeya University of Science and Technology (MUST) has announced new employment opportunities for qualified Tanzanian citizens to fill several vacant Tutorial Assistant positions at the University.

MUST has announced a total of five (5) Tutorial Assistant vacancies across four academic areas:

1. Tutorial Assistant – Aquatic Science and Aquaculture Technology
Number of Posts: 1
Duty Station: Main Campus
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be expected to:
- Understudy senior academic members, including attending lectures, seminars, tutorials and practical training.
- Conduct tutorials, seminars and practical sessions.
- Assist in research, consultancy and outreach activities.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the relevant authorities.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Science in Aquatic Sciences and Aquaculture Technologies, Aquaculture, Aquatic Science, Fisheries, or Marine Science, with a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 from a recognized university.
Remuneration: PUTS 1.1.
2. Tutorial Assistant – Health Information Science
Number of Posts: 1
Duty Station: Main Campus
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties include:
- Understudying senior members by attending lectures, seminars, tutorials and practical training.
- Conducting tutorials, seminars and practicals.
- Assisting in research, consultancy and outreach activities.
- Performing other duties assigned by the relevant authorities.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Systems with a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 from a recognized university.
Remuneration: PUTS 1.1.
3. Tutorial Assistant – Interior Design
Number of Posts: 2
Duty Station: Main Campus
Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Understudying senior members, including attending lectures, seminars, tutorials and practical training.
- Conducting tutorials, seminars and practicals.
- Assisting in research, consultancy and outreach activities.
- Performing other duties assigned by the relevant authorities.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Bachelor Degree in Interior Design Technology, Bachelor of Science in Interior Design, or Bachelor of Interior Architecture, with a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 from a recognized university.

4. Tutorial Assistant – Inclusive Education
Number of Posts: 1
Duty Station: Main Campus
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties include:
- Understudying senior academic members through lectures, seminars, tutorials and practical training.
- Conducting tutorials, seminars and practicals.
- Assisting in research, consultancy and outreach activities.
- Performing any other duties assigned by the relevant authorities.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Education in Special Needs and Inclusive Education with a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 from a recognized university.
Remuneration: PUTS 1.1.

According to the MUST employment announcement, all applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens and must not be above 45 years of age.

Required Documents
Applicants are required to provide certified copies of:
- Postgraduate, Degree, Advanced Diploma, Diploma and Certificate awards, where applicable.
- Academic transcripts.
- Form IV and Form VI National Examination Certificates.
- Professional registration and training certificates from the relevant registration or regulatory boards, where applicable.
- Birth certificate.
Form IV and Form VI result slips, testimonials and partial transcripts are not accepted.
Applicants must also upload a recent passport-size photograph to the Recruitment Portal and provide details of three reputable referees with reliable contact information.
Requirements for Foreign Certificates
Candidates holding qualifications obtained outside Tanzania must ensure that their certificates are properly verified.
Foreign Ordinary or Advanced Level education certificates must be verified by NECTA, while certificates from foreign universities and other training institutions should be verified by TCU and NACTVET, as applicable.
Foreign university certificates should also have a GPA calculated out of five (5) grade points by TCU.
