The People’s Bank of Zanzibar Limited (PBZ)

The People’s Bank of Zanzibar Limited (PBZ) as Government owned commercial bank offering both Islamic and Conventional Banking Services, was established on June 30, 1966 and incorporated under Cap. 153 of the Zanzibar Companies Decree which has been repealed and replaced by Companies Act No.15 of 2013. The bank has one subsidiary which is MuCoBa Bank Plc owned by 75%.

MuCoBa Bank Plc was incorporated in Tanzania under the Companies Act, No 12 of 2002 as public limited in June 1999. Due to expansion of its operational area the name was changed from Mufindi Community Bank to MuCoBa Bank Public Limited Company from May 29^,2014. The bank was listed in Dar es salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) on June 8, 2016.

Zanzibar Football Federation

The governing football Federation for Zanzibar, an African nation, is called the Zanzibar Football Federation (ZFF), formerly known as the Zanzibar Football Association (Swahili: Shirikisho la Mpira wa Miguu Zanzibar).

The Confederation of African Football, which oversees football in Africa, counted the ZFA as an associate member. The ZFA was expelled from CAF in 2005 when FIFA rejected them, but they were later reinstated as an associate member following intense lobbying. This meant that while the club teams affiliated with the ZFA may compete in the CAF-organized continental club competitions, the Zanzibar national team could not. Due to their status as associate members, the ZFA are not permitted to vote in CAF matters. Players from Zanzibar are eligible to compete for Tanzania, the team that represents the independent territory, in international competition.

Since 1949, it has participated in regional events as a nation state. It presently participates in competitions run by CECAFA.

In March 2017, the ZFA was accepted as a full member of the CAF, but membership was revoked four months later.

The Zanzibar Football Association held a vote in March 2017 to decide whether to change their name to Zanzibar Football Federation, and they were successful.
