UDelNet IDs Login ,Activate & How to find University of Delaware UD IDs Using the UD CAS screen, you can log in to UD secured systems using either a Username (UDelNet ID or email address) or UD ID.
Usernames
The Username text box on the CAS login page accepts three identifiers to log in to secured UD systems:
- a student or employee’s UDelNet ID
- a student or employee’s @udel.edu email address (udelnetid@udel.edu)
- a student or employee’s UD ID
- a non-UD email address associated with a parent/guardian or guest account
Use your UDelNet password with your Username.
UDelNet IDs
Students, faculty, and staff can type their UDelNet IDs in the CAS Username text box to log in to secured UD systems.
- Your UDelNet ID is an alphabetic username that you also use as your main UD email address (as in udelnetid@udel.edu). (More information about Your UDelNet account.)
- Your UDelNetIDÂ must be 8 or fewer characters.
- The CAS system will also accept your @udel.edu email address.
- The CAS system will also accept your UD ID.
- Your UDelNet password should consist of 12 or more characters and must pass certain security checks. To ensure the security of personal information, your UDelNet password must be kept strictly confidential. (More information about UDelNet passwords.)
UD IDs
Your UD ID is a unique 5- or 9-digit number that identifies you, whether you’re a student, employee, applicant for admission, UD alumnus or alumna, or former UD student. Every employee, student, or applicant for admission is assigned a UD ID.
- Your UD ID is sometimes referred to as a “Student ID” or “EMPLID” (employee ID).
- Students’ UD IDs will remain active for access to UD student information after a student graduates or is no longer enrolled at UD.

Follow the instructions below to activate your UDelNet and UD email accounts before you arrive on campus.
When can I activate my UDelNet account?
The date you can activate your UDelNet account will depend on when you will attend UD and your classification as a student.
How do I activate my UDelNet account?
An active UDelNet account provides access to UD email and a host of other services available to UD students.Undergraduate students
- Review the UD Responsible Computing Policy.
- After submitting your admission deposit to the University, you can create your UDelNet ID (the first part of your UD email address before @udel.edu) and password.
- Log in to My Blue Hen Home with your email address and password.
- Click the option Set-up your UD email account.
- You will now begin the process of creating your UDelNetID. Follow the step-by-step instructions. Your UDelNetID must be 8 or fewer characters.
- When you have completed the account creation process, you will be able to immediately log in to your UD email and UD housing with your UDelNet ID and UDelNet password. Other secure UD services may take one to two days to activate.

Graduate students
Graduate students should activate their UDelNet account at the Graduate Account Setup Portal.
Professional & Continuing Studies students taking credit courses
If you are a Continuing Education (CEND) student, you will be invited to create a UD Account after you have worked with the Professional & Continuing Studies ACCESS Center to register for a course. If you would like to meet with an academic advisor, please call 302-831-8843 or email [email protected]. If you are ready to enroll in a course, please complete the Online Registration Request form.Note: Dual Enrollment and Dual Enrollment and SWUFE-UD Joint Educational Institute students should follow the individual procedures for their programs and do not need to complete the online registration request form.Returning students

If you have been accepted for readmission, log in to the UDelNet Security Update to create your UDelNet ID.
