nternship Opportunity for teachers and foundation phase graduates to apply at various learning institutions.

LEARNER TEACHER INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME

January 2021

If you have a passion for teaching young children and are looking to grow and learn within a dynamic and caring environment, then this is the opportunity for you!

The Intern Programme aims to produce effective, motivated, inspirational and professional teachers for South African schools. Successful interns will complete a 4-year B. Education degree and will receive daily hands-on experience in the classroom, guided by St Peter’s teachers. Interns will also be exposed to alternative teaching environments through our Community Partnership Programme.

Requirements:

  • Matric with Bachelor degree endorsement
  • 55% for English First Language or 60% for English first additional language
  • 55% for Maths or 60% for Maths Literacy
  • Competence in English
  • Passion for teaching
  • South African citizenship
  • Interpersonal and communication skills

Closing Date: 19 September 2020

Sports Internship

Those wishing to apply must:

  • be studying towards a diploma or degree in sports and its various sciences.
  • have a passion for sports and working with children of all ages.
  • be committed to upholding the ethos and values of Kammaland.
  • be highly adaptable to change.
  • be a motivated individual who works well in teams.
  • have sound interpersonal skills.
  • have an sound knowledge of various coaching techniques; strong administrative skills and be able to work under pressure.
  • have a passion for NPO organisations and a commitment to help children from various communities.
  • nurture a high-achieving work environment where all students feel genuinely valued and supported.
  • collaborate with grade level and content area partners to develop rigorous, engaging learning experiences and to create individualised behaviour and learning plans for struggling students.

The closing date is the 20 September 2020.

Academic Intern

Intermediate Phase (Grade 4 – 6) department.

Those wishing to apply must:

  • be studying towards degree in Education or wishing to study a PGCE through correspondence.
  • have a passion for working with children of all ages.
  • be committed to upholding the ethos and values of Kammaland.
  • be highly adaptable to change.
  • be a motivated individual who works well in teams.
  • have sound interpersonal skills.
  • have an sound knowledge of various educational techniques; strong administrative skills and be able to work under pressure.
  • have a passion for NPO organisations and a commitment to help children from various communities.
  • nurture a high-achieving work environment where all students feel genuinely valued and supported.
  • collaborate with grade level and content area partners to develop rigorous, engaging learning experiences and to create individualised behaviour and learning plans for struggling students

The closing date is the 20 September 2020.

The ideal candidate for this programme should: 

  • Be registering or be eligible to register for a PGCE through correspondence in 2021 and be interested in gaining professional experience in the workplace;
  • Be willing to teach within at least one learning area;
  • Be willing to be involved in specific school programmes and projects such as plays, field trips, hikes, sporting and outreach activities, where relevant and possible;
  • Have a passion for learning and see themselves working towards a permanent career in teaching.
  • Understand that as CTTH is a school that adheres to traditional values, teachers are expected to act in accordance with the spirit of these ideals, this includes modest attire and sensitivity to the beliefs of the school and students.
