Job description

Ninety9cents is a full service, integrated advertising agency located in Cape Town, and is one of South Africa’s largest independently-owned agencies. Led by founder and Managing Director Andrew Brand, the agency’s extensive client base includes leading brands such as Shoprite/Checkers, Ackermans, PUMA and the Spur Group, to name a few.

We are looking for an SEO Copywriter, with the ability to grasp a client’s strategy and brand, and deliver beautiful, insightful, polished work to join our team!

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Write compelling copy specialising in content strategy, whilst ensuring alingment with best practices and brand standards
• Create clear, concise, conversational copy that inspire action and encourage engagement
• Adhere to brand and copy standards as it relates to digital content development
• Use SEO practices to optimize campaign copy and increase visibility
• Content development

Requirements

• A tertiary qualification in copywriting and /or advertising
• At least three years experience as an SEO copywriter within an advertising agency
• A portfolio of evidence that reflects creative copywriting proficiencies
• Excellent communication skills
• Understand advertising as a selling tool  
• Team player

• Great sense of humour
• Ability to accept guidance and respond well to criticism 
• Meticulous with attention to detail
• Finely honed copywriting skills – ability to write imaginative, broad, intrusive, creative and original work
• Demonstrate creative insight and brilliance for client solutions across all media platforms
• Must be willing to work on alcohol brands
• Flexible to work overtime (if and when required)
