SASSA R350 Grant January 2023 Payment Dates

With South Africa’s unemployment rate soaring, the SRD R350 has been extended for another year. This means that more people will benefit from the award and be able to meet some of their basic necessities.

This is also an excellent opportunity for people who were unable to apply in prior cycles to do so now via the SRD website. Learn how to apply for the R350 grant

The R350 award is available to anyone in need who meets the following criteria:

  • Between the ages of 18 and 60
  • South African citizens, refugees, asylum seekers, and special permit holders who have insufficient means
  • Not eligible for or are not contributing to the UIF contribution
  • Do not receive financial assistance from any other source

Unlike social grants, which have specified payment dates, the R350 grant payment has no set deadlines because SASSA has been having difficulty settling payments on time. They, on the other hand, have been working nonstop to process all applications and clear the payment backlog. Hopefully, by 2023, they will have completed the majority of the remaining payments.

Beneficiaries can track the status of their application online and file an appeal if it is denied.
