Job Description
Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (“CCBA”) presents an exciting opportunity for a Financial Accounting and Control Manager. The successful candidate will be based in the Port Elizabeth Head Office, where they will be reporting to the Group Financial Controller. The successful incumbent will lead the team in ensuring that the organization achieves financial objectives by producing high quality, timely and compliant financial accounts.

Coca-Cola Beverages Africa is the largest African Coca-Cola bottler, accounting for 40 percent of all Coca-Cola volumes on the continent. CCBA is a market leader in the NARTD (non-alcoholic ready to drink market) in Africa. CCBA has an extensive footprint in Africa, employing over 16 000 employees.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • The role will require the candidate to deliver Statutory
  • Reporting for CCBA and the reporting requirements for CCBA to The Coca-Cola Company according to the relevant accounting standards in terms of International Financial Reporting Standards and United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (IFRS/US GAAP).
  • Management the overall group consolidation Governance over the chart of accounts and policies and procedures for the group 
  • Responsible for the accounting treatment for any merger and acquisition activity 
  • Responsible for new accounting standards introduction and rollout (IFRS & US GAAP)
  • Producing high quality, accurate, timely and compliant financial information 
  • Defining and executing key financial policies 
  • Managing the company chart of accounts 
  • Managing group consolidation 
  • Delivering statutory reporting requirements for CCBA and interim holding companies 
  • Managing the CCBA reporting requirements for The Coca-Cola Company consolidated financials 
  • Providing the Financial Planning and Analysis team with board and statutory reporting requirements 
  • Supporting finance staff across all countries

Skills, Experience & Education

  • Chartered Accounting (SA) or equivalent 
  • 10+ years relevant financial experience 
  • 5+ years senior finance management experience 
  • Experience with complex consolidations preferable 
  • Experience managing policies and the chart of accounts 
  • Strong knowledge on statutory requirements including both IFRS and USGAAP
