Directorate/Cluster: Programmes and Global Engagement

Position: IHART Finance Officer – Covid-19 Response Grade C

Location: GS Hub office/AA Country Office

Duration: Secondment/Fixed Term – 6 months

Role overview

The susscessful candidate will provide support to the IHART International Management Accountant, wider team and network commitments and coordinate and manage day to day project finances which include providing detailed finance advice, budget development support and financial management to IHART-coordinated/managed work and projects.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Ensure timely tracking of Covid19 appeal incomes from fundraising countries against the income tracker and posting that to SUN System.
  • Support in monitoring Covid-19 emergency transfer disbursements against the confirmed incomes.
  • Initiate funds transfers to FHN partners, support documentation and post the entries to SUN System.
  • Support in finance related capacity strengthening of FHN partners as per request and in coordination with the FHH representative and IHART Management Accountant.
  • Prepare the global budget and donor single/multi-country project budgets for the Feminist Humanitarian Network (FHN)
  • Provide support to the IHART Management Accountant, Systems and Surge Coordinator and FHN Coordinator as needed and works with others in the Finance and Operation’s Cluster/IHART team to contribute to ActionAid’s and FHN’s systems, processes and guidelines.

Education, Language & Qualifications

  • Business/Finance related degree with relevant experience;
  • Professional Accounting qualification Part 3) or equivalent of ACCA, CIMA, ICA, CPA); and
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English.

Essential Knowledge, skills and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience.
  • Good working knowledge of computerised accounting packages and MS office (Excel).
  • Experienced user in SUN

  • Substantial relevant experience of tracking finances and collating accounts for humanitarian work across multiple cost centres/countries
