Job description

Here’s what you can expect to be doing in the role:

• Achieve financial targets
• Drive appliance products creatively and innovatively in product range
• Achieve technical application of product
• Effectively utilise systems and processes
• Display sound trader instinct
• Display sound reasoning/influencing skills

Requirements

A little about who you are:

• A Minimum of five years buying experience in a retail and/or e-commerce environment
• A proven solid track record in buying
• Experience in sourcing out of China (direct factory experience)
• Buying exposure in appliances specifically would be advantageous
• Ability to identify and capitalize on current trends and apply to product development
• Proven negotiation skills and experience with supplier management both locally and internationally
• A clear understanding of the retail cycle and buying process
• A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of SA’s retail appliance market, regulatory requirement, customers and competitors
• Advanced level in MS Office package – with a specific focus on Excel and PowerPoint
