- October 2024: Registration opens for May/June Matric Rewrite 2025 exams

Senior Certificate Rewrite Policy
Senior Certificate candidates are permitted to rewrite their examinations only in May/June 2025.
Changes to Supplementary Exams
Matric candidates should be aware that February/March supplementary exams have been eliminated. The May/June 2025 examinations will be the first opportunity for those dissatisfied with their matric results to improve their scores.
The supplementary examination during February/March has been discontinued and is no longer available. The new examination in May/June allows candidates to enhance their results or address any outstanding issues. The application deadline for 2025 is 7 February 2025.
Registration Process
Senior Certificate candidates can register online for the May/June 2025 examinations. In contrast, National Senior Certificate students must visit their nearest District office to complete their registration.
2024 Final Matric Exams
The NSC exams for 2024 are set to begin soon. This year’s final matric examination period will start on 21 October and conclude in late November.
A total of 732,448 full-time candidates have registered for the 2024 NSC exams, reflecting an increase of 8,400 from 2023. Additionally, 136,195 part-time candidates are registered for various subjects this year.
