Job Vacancies at TANROADS Kigoma 2022 The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is an Agency under the Ministry of works and Transport which is Transport which is responsible for the Development and Maintenance of the Trunk and Regional Roads Network in Tanzania Mainland. It is also responsible in conducting Axle Load Control Operations using weighbridges scales.

The regional Manager’s office TANROADS -Kigoma, on behalf of the Chief Executive TANROADS, is looking for suitably qualified Tanzanian individuals to fill vacant positions available for Weighbridge Shift In-charge, Weighbridge Operators and Drivers as follows;

Position Title: Driver (2 Post)

Scope of Positions:

The successful candidate should be ready to work for considerable lengths of time when required under minimum supervision.

Key Qualification

Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination with Basic Driving Course offered by VETA or any other recognized institution and driving license Grade C or E with good track record in driving for the past years.
At least three years experience.
Age not above 45
Must be Tanzanian citizen
Apart from professional qualifications requirements outlined in the above positions, candidates to assume the positions must be trustworthy, responsible, reliable, accountable and with high degree of integrity.

Position Title: Weighbridge Operator (4 Posts)

Scope of Positions:

The successful candidate should be ready to work for considerable lengths of time when required under minimum supervision.

Key Qualifications:

Holder of Full Technician Certificate (FTC) or Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or any other Engineering field from recognized Learning Institution/College
Age: Not above 45 years;
Must be Computer literate
Must be fluent in Kiswahili and English Languages:
Must be a Tanzanian Citizen.

Duties and responsibilities: –
He/she shall be responsible for undertaking activities as described in the East African Community Vehicle Load Control (Enforcement Measures, Special Roads and Vehicle Dimensions) Regulations (2018) and Weighbridge Operational Manual (2018).

Specific activities shall include:

To weigh Vehicles passing on Weighbridge as per required Laws,
To verify Vehicle dimensions for permit issuance.
To calculate overload charges
To detain vehicles contravening axle load control Act.
To provide advice to transporters in case of non-compliance with vehicle dimension limits,
To perform such other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor;

Position Title: Weighbridge Shift In-Charge (1 Post)

Scope of Positions:

The successful candidate should be ready to work for considerable lengths of time when required under minimum supervision.

Key Qualifications:

Holder of Bachelor Degree in any profession from a recognized Higher Learning Institution/College
Age limit: between 35-40 years;
Must be Computer literate; and
Must be fluent in Kiswahili and English Languages:

Duties and responsibilities: –

Carrying out activities as described in the EAC Vehicle Load Control Act, of 2016 and its Regulations, 2017. The activities include the following:
To Weigh Motor Vehicle of Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) > 3,500Kg on our Public Roads;
To impose road damage fee on the spot when the vehicle is found overloaded;
To measure physical dimension of motor vehicles or any load being carried on the motor vehicle and in case on non-compliance with vehicle dimension limits the transporters should be caused to seek a special permit;
To ascertain compliance with the abnormal load permit, and
To perform such other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor;
