The Required Documents to recover the SASSA phone number

To begin the phone number recovery process, it is essential to have the following necessary documents:

  • Application ID or Reference Number
  • New cell phone number (if updating)

After you have both of them, you can begin the process of recovering your forgotten phone number.

There are various reasons why you may wish to change your mobile number for your SASSA grant. Some common reasons include:

  • You have switched mobile network providers (for example you changed from MTN to Vodacom, or CellC to Telkom)
  • You have lost of damaged your previous SIM card or your personal circumstances have changed
  • Your mobile
  •  phone has been lost or stolen
  • You applied for the SRD grant with someone elses cellphone and no longer have contact with this person

How to change your cellphone number on your SRD Grant?

1. First, you will need to visit the SASSA SRD grant contact details page

4. Click the “Submit” button
