How To Fix SASSA UIF Registered Status Failed (Updated) Have you found your sassa UIF Registration status failed? no need to worry here on this article you will be guided hand by hand to fix the errors.

What is Meaning of “UIF Registered” Status

The “UIF Registered” status means that SASSA has found that you are registered for UIF or an active beneficiary of UIF funds. So, according to the eligibility criteria of SASSA grants, you must not receive any other government programs or private funds to be eligible for an SASSA grant. Hence, SASSA rejected your grant and showed that you already received financial support.

If you are not receiving it and SASSA unfairly detected that, you still don’t have to worry, as we are about to discuss the reasons and how to fix it to approve your application for the SRD R350 grant.

The Reasons Your Status Showing UIF Registered

As we discussed, the main reason is that SASSA has detected you as a UIF-registered beneficiary. So, it can be due to the following reasons:

  • You are already receiving the UIF funds, which makes you ineligible for the SRD grant.
  • You are registered for UIF benefits even if you are not receiving it. It can be because your previous employer contributed to UIF funds on your behalf.
  • SASSA mistakenly identified you as a UIF recipient due to an error during their verification process.

If you are disqualified for the SRD unemployment grant due to actively receiving the UIF benefits, you cannot be eligible as you already receive financial support. But if you are disqualified for any other areas

How To Solve UIF Registered SASSA Error

Step 1: Check Your UIF Status

First, you must check your current UIF status to confirm that you are registered for UIF or it is due to any mistake. You can check your UIF status from the “Department of Employment and Labour” website at https://ufiling.labour.gov.za/uif.

If your status shows “inactive”, then it means that you are not receiving any UIF benefits and can continue the appeal process to get your SRD grant approved.

Step 2: Gather the Required Documents for Appeal

Now, gather all your documents that show you are not receiving any UIF benefits and that your grant was wrongly declined. It can include:

  • Your bank statement for the last six months
  • Letter from UIF that shows that you are not receiving any UIF benefits
  • Any additional document proving you are not receiving UIF funds can strengthen your appeal.

Step 3: File an Appeal

Now, visit the SASSA’s website to file an appeal for your SRD grant:

  • Visit the SASSA SRD website via the link: https://srd.sassa.gov.za/appeals/appeal.
  • Provide your South African Identity Card number and phone number.
  • Click the “send pin” button.
  • You will receive an OTP pin on your registered SASSA phone number. Provide it on the website screen.
  • Once OTP is verified, you will need to select the month for which your grant was rejected.
  • After that, you will be asked to provide the supporting documents. Provide all documents, including your bank statement, a status letter from UIF, and any additional supporting documents proving you are not receiving UIF benefits.
  • Now, click on the submit button to submit your appeal.

Step 4: Wait for the Decision

After submitting the appeal, you must wait for a decision, which typically takes 60 to 90 days. An independent tribunal reviews the appeals, and you will be notified once a decision is made regarding the approval or rejection of your grant.
