Ekurhuleni West TVET College (EWC): Admission Requirements
National Certificate Vocational (NQF Level 2)
Duration: One year per NQF level.
Admission requirements:
- Grade 9 or higher
- ABET Level 4
- NQF Level 1
To obtain a National Certificate: A total of 7 subjects: 3 Fundamental and 4 Vocational subjects, of which 3 are compulsory and 1 is optional.
National Certificate Vocational (NQF Level 3)
Duration: One year per NQF level.
Admission requirements:
- Competency in Learning Outcomes at NQF Level 2 of the same sub-field / programme.
To obtain a National Certificate: A total of 7 subjects: 3 Fundamental and 4 Vocational subjects, of which 3 are compulsory and 1 is optional.
National Certificate Vocational (NQF Level 4)
Duration: One year per NQF level.
Admission requirements:
- Competency in Learning Outcomes at NQF Level 3 of the same sub-field / programme.

Post Grade 12 (Semester Courses)
Minimum admission requirements:
- NSC / N3 / Grade 12 for N4
- N4 for N5
- N5 for N6
General: Each subject covers a period of six months (January to June or July to November). Four subjects must be taken for each course. Students who passed N4, N5 and N6 will be issued with a certificate in the specific field of study.
