The Climate Programme and Partnership Manager will play an important role in supporting the British High Commission’s objectives in the climate sector.
The position involves managing climate-related programme funding and overseeing different stages of the programme cycle, including mobilisation, implementation, contract management and closure. What Are the Main Responsibilities of the Climate Programme and Partnership Manager?
The successful candidate will be responsible for
- Leading programme management activities in accordance with the FCDO Programme Operating Framework.
- Managing programme cycles, risks, finances and relationships with implementing partners.
- Developing and maintaining comprehensive programme delivery plans.
- Building effective relationships with suppliers and delivery partners.
- Working with government, multilateral and bilateral development partners, civil society and private-sector organisations.
- Supporting the use of development assistance and non-programmatic approaches to achieve country-plan objectives.
- Acting as a point of contact for programme management matters, including finance, supplier management, risk, communications, monitoring, evaluation and learning.
- Applying relevant FCDO programme and financial management guidance.
- Conducting and updating due diligence assessments to identify programme risks.
- Working with commercial leads on contract management and value-for-money considerations.
- Leading programme risk discussions and maintaining risk registers.
- Using risk management tools covering due diligence, delivery chains, fraud and safeguarding.
- Supporting revisions to programme results frameworks and theories of change.
- Supporting the collection and analysis of programme impact and results data, including through field visits.
- Contributing to annual and programme completion reviews.

- Working with FCDO headquarters thematic teams on centrally managed programmes in Tanzania.
