Previously, going to a Department of Labour office was the only option for checking your UIF status, but now it can be done online which makes the process easier. Here’s how to check your UIF status online in a few 7 simple steps:

  1. Seeking Employment and Labour information online? Here’s what you need to do: Go to the official site of the Division of Employment and Labor www.labour.gov.za as the first step towards achieving the task.
  2. Click on ‘Online Services’: When on the site, the next click will be on the ‘Online Services’ submenu found on the top of the ad’s page.
  3. Choose ‘UIF’: From the provided options for online services click ‘UIF’ and hit that.
  4. Hit ‘UIF Online’: On the next page will available UIF services. In order to proceed press ‘UIF Online’.
  5. Fill in your credentials: At this point you will be asked to fill in ID number and additional information including your full name and whose contacts are provided.
  6. Look up your UIF availability: Once you have been prompted and completed the necessary details, you will be able to assess their UIF availability which will indicate the value of the last deposited in the fetched account and the balance left in the account.
  7. Examine your payment history: Also, you will be able to access your payment history wherein all the payment processed for you by the UIF will be located.
