Parents and guardians can now apply for form one boarding spots for their children in 2022–2023 through the Electronic Ministry Application Platform (eMAP), which has been made available by the Ministry of Primary & Secondary Education.

The number of schools to which a form 1 online application can be submitted at once has been lowered from five to three, which is a significant shift for the 2022/2023 application platform.

The necessity to lighten the system’s load might have prompted the change. Due to heavy traffic, there were a few difficulties and oddities on the system last year.

Since the Grade 7 results will be utilised in the selection process, you won’t know if your application has been accepted or denied until after they have been issued through SMS.

Due to the restricted number of boarding school spots, it would also be a good idea to apply as soon as feasible. The demand for available spots greatly outstripped the supply last year, and the same is likely to be true this year.

For 2022–2023, there is no eMap Zimbabwe application form. Applying online is required at www.emap.co.zw.

3. Application of schools

3.1 MoPSE reserves the right to limit the maximum number of schools that can appear on your short list at any given time subject to availability of vacancies.

3.2 Once you apply to a school your application can show any one of the following statuses:

Pending – application still under consideration
Accepted – you have been offered a place
Processed – once a particular school has accepted your Child, all the other outstanding schools’ statuses will automatically be changed to processed
Rejected – your application was unsuccessful

3.3 Once you decline an offer there is no guarantee that you will get the same offer back

3.4 The offering of a place is done randomly from your shortlisted schools
