Why employers often employ young females instead of young males

Why employers often employ young females instead of young males On this page, we’ll go over the reasons why young women are frequently hired by employers in South Africa rather than young men. The Employment Equity Act combats unjust discrimination in all employment-related policies and practices to advance equal opportunity in the workplace. Employers may still favor hiring a young woman over a male candidate, though. Why? due to fair discrimination and affirmative action, both of which are a part of the Bill of Rights Act.

Main reason why employers often employ young females

Employers in South Africa are permitted to discriminate fairly (fair discrimination) based on affirmative action. Affirmative action policy seeks to promote equal opportunity in the workplace or in education for both males and females. Based on the current realities, there are currently more males than females in the workplace. However, the gap is shrinking each time, as more young females are getting first preferences over male counterparts.
