How Much SASSA Pays For Each Grant

Some people criticize this grant’s limited size, while lawmakers urge for its termination. The Brooklyn Institute claims that these scholarships are, in fact, benefiting the less fortunate in society and making a good difference.

I want you to read this carefully because it contains a very crucial detail that will help you understand how much money you can anticipate receiving on these payment dates.

  • SASSA SRD Grant

This grant was introduced during the peak of the Covid 10 pandemic. Currently the amount you will get paid is R350.

  • Child Support Grant

For the child support grant, let me clear some things here. There is payment of R480 and R720. Now, the payment of R480 is for 1 child and it is paid to the mother. The payment of R720 is for a primary caregiver for an orphaned child, so the R720 is per child.

  • Foster Child Support

The grant for a foster child support per child is R1070 per month. Now, who is a foster child?

A foster child is a child placed in your care by court judgement either because the child is orphaned ( i.e. no parent) or the child is being abused or neglected/abandoned.

  • Care Dependency support

For this, you get R1980 per child for each month.

  • Disability Grant

For this grant, you get R1990 per month.

  • Old Age Grant /Pensioners Support

If you are less than 72 years old, you get R1990 per month, but if you are older than 72, you get R1990 per month. However, you must be older than 60 years.

  • War Veteran’s Grant

The amount per month is R2010

General SASSA Grant Payment VS SASSA R350 Grant Payment

Let me clarify some misunderstandings regarding the two parties’ SASSA award payment dates;

When the R350 grant payment is made varies from when you receive the regular SASSA award payments.

  • For the SASSA R350 grant payment, there is no fixed date, but it is usually after the normal SASSA payment has been made.
  • Also, the beneficiaries of the SASSA SRD R350 grant money or unemployment grant ( unofficial though) is that these payment has been extended for the next 12 months till March 2024.

, we appreciate Ramaphosa and we think people should honestly applaud this man for this kind of support for the whole South Africans.

How To Get The SASSA Grant Payments

The South African Social Security Agency, or SASSA, published instructions on how recipients of these payments might obtain their funds. There are two ways to get your money:

  • Some selected supermarkets, such as ShopRite, Pick N Pay, USave merchants, Boxer, checkers ( I am not sure SPAR is included).
  • Direct deposit into your bank account
  • Through your SASSA card ( to me, this is the easiest)
  • ABSA CashSend
  • Postbank
