SAOPF (South African Older Persons Forum) is a Non-Governmental Organization that operates in the ageing sector, specifically looking after the needs of Older Persons and unpacking the Policies and Regulations that Governs the sector. Below is their Vision & Mission. They are recruiting for a National Coordinator who will be responsible for the overall day to day management of the Organization reporting directly to the Board of Directors. The Organization offers total costs to Company of (300 000 per annum) Their Vision” their envisage an environment where the contribution of O/P is recognized, Where O/P can experience security and Personal Fulfilment, Where the Rights and, Dignity of O/P are Respected, Where O/P have a role to play in development, Where O/P Participate in all planning on issues affecting them. Their mission is to identify and articulate the concerns and needs of O/P, as voiced by them, and in consultation with Government and other Role Players, to ensure that these needs are addressed in Legislation, services and Programs.
Requirements:
- A three-year Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies, Social Studies or Management.
- A solid and proven five-year experience in the NGO Sector,
- Good experience of working and reporting to the Board,
- Financial management and Management accounting skills,
- Strong Multiple Project Management Skills (PMBOK) Budget Development and Implementation oversight skills,
- Report writing and Strong Stake Holder Relations Management Skills and Experience.
- A valid Drivers license and No criminal record.
Responsibilities:
- Strategy Development and Implementation:
- Support the Board in the development of the Organizational Strategic Plan
- Develop and submit for approval the Annual Plan (Action Plan) in order to achieve the Strategic Plan.
- Develop and submit for approval the annual budget for the implementation of the Action Plan
- Ensure that the Action Plan is implemented
- Monitor and Evaluate the Action Plan implementation, taking remedial action and or tactical responses when needed
- Report Progress to the Board through your line Manager (Chairperson of the Board)
- Monitor the correct implementation of the annual budget and take remedial action for under or over spending where visible
- Assess and analyze Provincial progress and generate comprehensive report to the Board on the status of the Provincial structures
- Ensure the alignment of the Provincial Annual Plans with the National Annual Plan
- Human Resource Development and Management:
- Be fully responsible for the Organizational Staff development which will feed into the Organizational Development
- Contribute to the Organizational Development Initiatives in line with the strategic plan by participating in all O.D. Initiatives developed /development
- Ensure the development and implementation of Policies, Processes and Procedures
- Develop and monitor staff key performance areas, manage performance which leads to performance appraisals
- Together with the Board, create an Organizational structure that is in line with the Vision and Mission of the Organization
- Develop a strategic succession Plan for each department and staff development based on this plan and in line with it.
- Plan and Budget for the staff development based on the succession Plan, Staff needs as shown by the performance appraisal outcomes
- Fund Development and organization sustainability Plan
- Together with the Board develop an Organizational strategic sustainability Plan
- Ensure correct and adequate Plan Implementation budget
- Implement strategic sustainability Plan through Annual Action that has been approved by the Board
- Fuse sustainability Plan into daily Operational Activities
- Monitor and Evaluate Sustainability Plan Implementation
- Generate Progress Reports and submit to the relevant Board Committee
- Generate Quarterly Progress Report and submit to the Board
- Maintain and ensure the Protection of the Organization reputation at all times
- Governance & Board Committees:
- Together with the Chairperson, ensure that all identified necessary Board committees are launched.
- Together with the Board ensure that the Organization’s Policies, Processes and Procedures are reviewed.
- Where and when necessary upgrade and update all Policies.
- Working together with the Board, ensure that all risks are classified and mitigating measures put in place.
- Ensure Ethical and acceptable separation of duties procedure is in place.
- Design and develop Organizational structures (Organogram) that clearly shows level of Authority and minimize conflict of decision-making processes.
