How to Register To Rewrite Matric Subjects 2022
How to Register To Rewrite Matric Subjects 2022 Not satisfied with your matric results? There are many options and opportunities where you can redeem yourself. Your matric results don’t define you, and these marks don’t have to stick with you for the rest of your life. Take control of your future and consider the following options.
Get a re-check
Mistakes often occur in the exam marking process, and sometimes marks aren’t counted properly. If you think your results are not a reflection of your hard work and late nights you put in, you may ask for an exam re-check.
If you want a re-check on your question papers, you can apply at your school or the Department of Education in your district. Remember to act fast if you want a matric re-check because the deadline to register is usually mid to end of January.
A matric recheck is your cheapest option.
Apply for a remark
If you believe that you studied too hard and it doesn’t reflect in your matric results, you may apply for an exam remark. Keep in mind there’s no guarantee your marks will improve if you apply for a remark, but the decision is ultimately yours to make.
Remarking costs R105 per paper, and you have until mid-January to apply for it. You may apply for a remark at your school or department of education district office.
If you want to view your exam papers, you can do that after the recheck or remark. Viewing costs R205 per paper.
Apply for supplementary exams
Believe it or not, but matriculants also get second chances. They get an opportunity to apply for supplementary exams and improve their results. Students who are interested have until January to apply to qualify for the June exams. You may apply for supplementary exams if the following applies to you.
- You failed up to two subjects
- Had medical reasons for missing your exams
- Your marks weren’t high enough to enter Higher Education
- Had a traumatic personal problem like bereavement during the November exams
Get a Matric Upgrade
After matric, you have enough time to decide whether or not you want to go this route. A Matric Upgrade allows you to rewrite the subjects you failed or improve the results you weren’t happy with. You don’t have to attend class or redo the subjects you already passed. To apply for a Matric Upgrade, you have to be at least 21 years or older and have a Grade 9 certificate.
Study without matric
If none of these options appeal to you, why not consider studying without matric? A lot of people think that their career options are limited without a matric certificate, but that’s not the case. Several distance learning colleges offer courses to students who don’t have matric. You may even apply for one of the prestigious ICB courses through a provider like Skills Academy.
