Pesticides have an immediate and long-term negative influence on health. It has been estimated that there are over 385 million non-fatal unintentional pesticide poisoning incidents per year, with roughly 11,000 deaths. Also, there is a strong correlation between pesticide exposure at work and home and unfavorable health consequences, such as cancer and bad effects on the nervous system, the immune system, and the reproductive system. On the other side, there are reportedly little dietary concerns associated with pesticides.

In the crop production, farmers may use different harmful substances such as chemical fertilizers and pesticides which have different harmful effects,such as;
- waterway pollution,
- chemical burn to crops,
- increased air pollution,
- acidification of the soil and mineral depletion of the soil.
