Job Description
Background:
The
Technical Support Services (TSS) activity collaboratively works with
USAID/South Africa’s Health Office to achieve results by creatively
identifying innovative solutions, supplementing and complementing
existing staff capacity, and enhancing capacity through technical
support, capacity building, and providing program and operations support
services.
Description of Position:
The
Team Lead will support Panagora’s ability to facilitate continuous
learning and adaptive management in a variety of ways including through
facilitation of communities of practice for the USAID/South Africa
Health Office, its various implementing partners, and relevant
stakeholders.
Position Responsibilities:
The Engagement, Learning, and Adapting Specialist will carry out the following activities:
- Support
the implementation of Communities of Practice, including dissemination,
documentation, and sharing of lessons learned, among other tasks
- Assist in the documentation of HIV/TB/COVID-19 best practices and interventions
- Support the development and implementation of a learning plan and learning activities
- Support capacity building activities for the Health Office, implementing partners, and other stakeholders
- Facilitate effective collaboration between and among USAID and its partners
- Collaborate
with USAID and its health implementing partners to implement processes
and tools to institutionalize continuous learning and adaptive
management
- Lead efforts to monitor progress toward learning agenda objectives
- Develop and implement a project-wide engagement strategy
- Manage engagement tools
- Support mid-course corrective measures and/or modifications during activity implementation
- Strengthen and add value to existing practices and processes
- Facilitate
the use of various platforms (i.e. Google, Zoom, etc.) that support
communities of practices and communication within and between various
stakeholders
Requirements
● Advanced degree (BA/Master’s) in relevant technical area (e.g. communications, journalism, business, public health)
● At least 8-10 years of experience in communications, facilitation, learning and adaptation
● Experience with PEPFAR, USAID and/or the South African health sector preferred
● Demonstrated experience with strategy development and implementation
● Demonstrated experience with virtual learning and engagement preferred
● Demonstrated good judgment, sensitivity and understanding of how messaging impacts diverse audiences
● Excellent computer skills in a full range of software, such as: MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe Photoshop and/or other graphics programs
● Demonstrated experience working with diverse teams
● Strong proficiency in written and spoken US English
● Excellent stakeholder relationship, communication and copy-editing skills
● Analytical thinking and attention to detail
