Why PATs are Important for Grade 12
All applicants providing disciplines with a practical component are required to complete a practical assessment assignment (PAT), which counts for 25% (100 points) of the final promotion grade. The first three terms of the academic year see the implementation of the PAT. This is divided into many stages or a collection of smaller PAT exercises. The PAT enables frequent evaluation of students throughout the academic year as well as evaluation of abilities that cannot be evaluated in a written format, such as a test or examination.
