About South African National Accreditation System (SANAS) 

The South African National Accreditation System (SANAS) is the official laboratory accreditation body for South Africa. Founded in 1996, SANAS is headquartered in Pretoria, South Africa. SANAS accreditation certificates are a formal recognition by the Government of South Africa that an organisation is competent to perform specific tasks.

SANAS Bursary  Benefits Package

The SANAS External Bursary covers tuition fees only, up to the following limits:

• National Diploma or Degree: up to R50 000
• Honours or Postgraduate Diploma: up to R70 000

What Is Not Covered

• Accommodation
• Transport
• Meals
• Books or learning materials
• Personal living expenses

Important: This bursary works best if combined with other support (family support, part-time work, NSFAS gap funding, or savings).

SANAS Bursary Application Requirements

Academic Requirements

• Acceptance or registration at a recognised and accredited South African institution
• Enrolment in a National Diploma, Degree, Honours, or Postgraduate Diploma

SANAS Bursary Required Documents

You will generally need to attach the following supporting documents when you submit your application form and email it to careers@sanas.co.za:

1. Certified copy of your South African ID

2. Proof of registration or acceptance

3. Academic transcripts/record

4. Motivation letter

5. Any other documents requested in the application form
