What Is the Majuba TVET College & CHIETA Workplace-Based Learning Programme?

The Workplace-Based Learning Programme is designed to help students gain hands-on industry experience in line with their field of study. Through this partnership, learners are placed at approved workplaces where they apply their academic knowledge in real-world settings.

This opportunity is especially important for students who need workplace exposure to complete their qualifications or enhance their chances of employment after graduation.

Fields Commonly Supported Under CHIETA Programmes

While placements depend on employer availability, opportunities are often available in:

  • Chemical Operations

  • Process Engineering

  • Mechanical and Electrical Engineering

  • Manufacturing and Production

  • Quality Control and Laboratory-related fields

  • Occupational Health and Safety

Targeted Programmes

The Workplace Based Learning Programme is specifically open to students who completed NCV Level 4 in the following fields:

  • Civil NCV Level 4
  • Engineering and Related Design NCV Level 4
  • Electrical Infrastructure Construction NCV Level 4

Who Can Apply for this  Opportunity?

  • Must be South African
  • Must be unemployed
  • Must not currently be in any education or training programme
  • Must not have previously participated in a WIL programme

  • Students with provisional letters from companies will be considered
  • Must have studied at Majuba TVET College
