Job Tittle: Mobile Equipment Operator III – Loader ( Position)
North Mara Gold Mine Limited is seeking to recruit Mobile Equipment Operator III – Loader
to join and grow their team. You will be expected to align to the Barrick DNA and to operate within our mining assets with our best people teams. You will contribute in a safe and cost-effective manner to achieve targets in accordance with Mine Safety Standards, Policies and Procedures and ensure daily targets are met.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the operation of a front-end loader to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage areas, feed conveyors, hoppers, and load trucks.
- Verify the amount of Tailing Stock in storage bins and fill hoppers to ensure adequate quantity and quality of raw materials are maintained.
- Participate in making sure the quality and quantity of raw materials meet established standards.
- Ensure assigned established performance indicators are met.
- Work toward the improvement of the assigned plant and surrounding area.
- Follow established environmental procedures to ensure that the plant for which he/she is working complies with Safety requirements
- Work with the Paste plant foreman, Paste Dispatcher, and other personnel to resolve problems, provide immediate feedback, and recommend solutions to improve performance.
- Haul cement and/or additives from the storage area in bulk or bags.
- Ensure that any damage to plant, vehicles or machinery is reported and that a pre-start check is completed prior to operating any vehicle or heavy machinery.
- Ensure that all incidents are reported as required under the safety Act and Regulations and according to Company policy.
- Ensure oncoming operator is given all relevant information relating to the current status and condition of your working areas.
- Accurate and timely completion of timecards at the end of each shift.
- Ensure Pre-start check lists are filled and returned to the shift supervisor
- Keep equipment and always working area clean. Clean spillage from trucks, walks, driveways
Qualification requirements
- Secondary School Certificate / Vocational Training/ Apprenticeship in a related field / college program in heavy equipment operation
- Hold a valid Tanzanian driver’s license
- Heavy Mobile equipment operation skills.
- Mines Health & Safety Act Awareness
Experience and Competencies needed
- Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment skills
- Experience in operating both wet or dry feed paste plants
- Previous experience in a similar role essential.
- Familiarity with Paste or process plant conveyor system
- Current and valid Driver’s License.
- Confined Space ticket.
- Telehandler (desirable)
- Forklift ticket (desirable)

Responsibilities
- Performing all duties with a priority on all aspects of safety
- Identifying/correcting hazards and reporting all findings to the Paste-fill foreman.
- Identify and report issues associated with breakdown/preventative maintenance in a timely manner.
- Ensure reporting is completed in a timely and accurate manner. Include reporting of daily logs, shift notes and handover processes.
- Monitoring / Operate paste quality to ensure product is within design specifications outlined in the stope fill notes.
- Monitoring and reporting on the paste plant performance; to mix design criteria.
- Manage the QA/QC testing regime to ensure quality product delivered and results released as required.
- Documenting relevant data on the shift reports and maintain shift diaries with up-to-date information;
- Work through and assist the maintenance team as required.
- Undertake daily checks and cleaning of equipment and advise of abnormalities in equipment.
- Communicate directly with Supervisor to ensure that they are fully versed with problems or critical issues that may impact on the operation of the plant and report all electrical and mechanical faults and breakdowns
- Liaise with underground supervisors, and workforce to ensure correct placement of paste fill product in correct location
- Liaise with process plant to ensure adequate supplies of raw materials available from filtered cake shade.
- Liaise with Fixed Plant Engineering to ensure plant availability
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Responsible for shift handover at area of responsibility.
Qualification Requirements

Responsibilities
- Adhere to isolation and lock out permits’ procedures.
- Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances.
- Performs high quality, planned and unplanned repairs of any mechanical fittings on pipes works
- With applicable codes, standards, safety, and environment regulation, maintaining a clean and environmentally safe work area, applying 5S principle.
- Attain and maintain relevant licenses and authorizations required to execute allocated duties e.g., Basic Rigging, Working at Heights, machine operation i.e., forklift, IT and Scissor Lift

Responsibilities
- Providing primary health care on a daily basis, including normal and on call consultations, providing medical advice to employees, infectious diseases, disease outbreaks, vaccination and travel advice.
- Primary stabilization of injured on the scene of the accident and patient monitoring in anticipation of evacuation to the nearest appropriate medical facility.
- Participating in the physical medical evacuation process, by road or air, as circumstances require.
- Ensuring accurate and appropriate documentation, and making sure that each interaction with Barrick employees, contractors or visitors is accurately and sufficiently documented.
- Making sure that doctor-patient interaction is confidential and ethically professional.
- Performing Occupational Health Surveillance task as per Site health risk assessment based on job exposure survey; so as to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for all. This will involve participation in assessing employees’ fitness for work and possibility for workplace adjustments, and mitigation of health risks.
- Maintaining a high level of clinical knowledge by educating self and actively engaging in opportunities for continuous medical education.
- Ensuring a working knowledge of the Clinic-based Equipment.
- Demonstrate adequate knowledge and skills in the use of the emergency medical equipment in the ambulance available at North Mara Clinic.
- Work hand to hand with Industrial hygiene section to train employees on occupational health hazards, analyse industrial hygiene exposure surveys.
- Implement all occupational health programs, employee assistance programs, malaria control program, health promotion programs and HIV /AIDS control program.
- Ensure Annual Health Risk Assessment is conducted and reviewed every year or any new operation.
- Ensuring a good working knowledge and inventory control of all equipment and medical supplies at the clinic and maintaining records of all clinic equipment, so as to advise when equipment is required to be upgraded, calibrated, maintained or replaced in a timely manner as necessary.
- Involved in planning and implementation of health promotion activities; and delivery of awareness sessions/ trainings to employees.
- Assisting with monitoring and evaluation of health initiatives/programs e.g. PHE scheme, First Aid, HIV/AIDS Workplace program, Malaria, Community health initiatives, etc
- Maintaining a positive relationship with other doctors and all staff members and working in accordance with the terms and conditions of employment.
- Liaising with Medical Insurance Companies and visiting Specialists/Consultants.

Qualification requirements
- A Medical Doctor (holder of Doctor of Medicine Degree from a recognized University), whose registration is applicable to Tanzania.
- Other Qualification(s) in Emergency Medicine/ Advanced Trauma Life Support, Family Medicine or Occupational Health will be advantageous.
- Post graduate study in Occupational Medicine will be an added advantage
Experience and Competencies needed
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in medical practice post internship.
- Experience and skills in trauma management, emergency surgical intervention, Malaria and HIV/AIDS management will be highly favored.

The successful candidate for this position is expected to align to the Barrick DNA and drive a change within his/her team and the business and on a practical note will ensure activities in the Social & Environment Department are effectively planned and undertaken in a safe and cost-effective manner to achieve targets in accordance with BGML Mining Safety Standards, Policies and Procedures.
Reporting to: Social – Project and Grievance Superintendent
Work Schedule: Rotation Status (6 Weeks On, 3 weeks Off )
Duration: Permanent
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to own and lead the journey to zero and walk the floor to deliver a safety culture across the site.
- Ensure all community projects are implemented and completed on planned timeframe.
- Liaise with both Districts Msalala and Nyang’hwale on community project issues for resolution to ensure on-time project completion.
- Ensure community project site visits are conducted as scheduled.
- Identify any negative deviations from the approved project plan and advice way forward on issues identified for corrective measures.
- Establish and manage relations with independent contractors, vendors to ensure quality service delivery.
- Facilitate payment for community projects including review of the document submitted to BGML by service providers.
- Collaborate with technical teams from both districts to conduct quality control for community projects.
- Lead the Community Development Committee (CDC) and come up with sustainable projects (review the district strategic 5 years plan and advise the CDC team on implementation phases for each project)
