JOB TITLE: COATER OPERATOR (DAR ES SALAAM)

Description
Key Responsibilities
▪ Operate the control desk at the coater room
▪ Check the production order requirements and prepare its inputs in advance
▪ Check quality of the materials used, applicator rolls, pick up rolls and maintain the process parameters
▪ Set correct gap required for the applicator and pick-up rolls
▪ Feed the process parameters into the scada as required
▪ Ensure the material is treated using the recommended procedure before paint is applied.
▪ Carryout Autonomous maintenance and housekeeping of the section
▪ Adhere to health and safety guidelines as per company policy
▪ Fill in the operation parameters as specified in the coater room logbook
Requirements
Qualifications required:
▪ Minimum academic qualification: Minimum Form 4 Level
▪ Qualifications as an added advantage: Craft Certificate in mechanical or paint process exposure
Experience required:
▪ General work experience (years): 6 months
▪ Specific to the position (level/discipline/years): Min: 6 months
▪ Industry: Manufacturing
Key competencies and skills:
▪ No medical / mental conditions e.g. not epileptic, not allergic paints, does not nose breed etc.

Troubleshooting and maintenance of PLC system, and other related instrumentation equipment like
temperature sensors, limit switches, proximity sensors, flow switches, flow monitors, pressure
switches etc.
▪ Parameterization and maintenance of frequency Drive Systems.
▪ Understanding the electrical drawing for problem troubleshooting in all areas of electrical control
systems.
▪ To inspect and confirm precise installation of electrical equipment, testing of continuity, polarity,
insulation and earthling system and correction for any abnormality found.
▪ To lead and ensure the entire shift works are maintained throughout, utilize the plant capacity.
▪ To ensure smooth production and attend any breakdown at timely.
▪ Planned equipment inspections with checklists and reporting all equipment abnormalities observed.
▪ Preparing Monthly technical report for all scheduled/unscheduled maintenances or equipment
breakdown duties/responsibilities.
▪ Preparing RCA report for equipment breakdown of more than one (1) hour so as to get root cause of
the problem.
▪ Safety compliance as per company’s requirements by conducting daily toolbox meeting before
attending any job.
▪ Preparing/writing all attended shift duties in a shift logbook and timely sending the same which was
prepared in an Excel sheet.
▪ Ensuring the maintenance management strategies for spare parts, planned maintenance task and
planned outages to increase plant reliability.
▪ Identifying and manage inventory level of critical spares and work closely with supply chain
department to ensure parts availability and durability.
▪ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
▪ Minimum three (3) years working experience.
▪ Proven experience working in electrical engineering roles within a manufacturing environment.
▪ Registered with ERB as Graduate Engineer
▪ Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and standards.
▪ Proficiency in electrical design software, CAD tools, and PLC programming.
▪ Familiarity with industrial automation systems, control systems, and motor drives.
▪ Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues.
▪ Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and convey technical
information to non-technical stakeholders.
▪ Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical abilities.
▪ Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
▪ Overall production and quality management at CCL.
▪ Oversee the Colour Coating process and ensure cost effective production.
▪ Ensure production targets are met through daily execution of Production Programmes at CCL.
▪ Monitor product standards and implement quality-control programs to ensure timely production and
acceptable quality.
▪ Ensuring optimum equipment capacity utilization against requirements; analyse quality and quantity
of production and initiate corrective actions to eliminate deficiencies.
▪ Monitor order priorities/ backlogs, equipment breakdowns, and other aspects affecting planned
schedules; initiate solutions for repetitive equipment failures and product complaints.
▪ Drive the implementation and usage of systems of production tracking (SAP) and inventory Control
including bar code system.
▪ Schedule and organise the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment.
▪ Support Maintenance programmes to ensure CCL and other allied equipment are healthy.
▪ Cost and consumption control of Paints, gas, electrical energy, APR, etc. at CCL to ensure that they
conform to the Budget targets.
▪ Manpower management ensuring discipline across the shop floor and reduction of avoidable costs.

▪ Supervising and motivating a team of workers; reviewing worker performance, appraisal of
subordinates and identifying training needs.
▪ Ensure compliance to Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety policies and guidelines.
▪ Maintain system conformance to ISO 9001, 14001 & 18001 standards at and CCL.
▪ Implement and support 6 K activities.
▪ working with other managers to implement the company’s policies and goals
▪ Ensure Preparation and circulation of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual MIS reports for
information and corrective actions
▪ Performing other duties as assigned by the management from time to time.
Budgetary responsibility
▪ Monitor and Control of colour coating line variable cost as per set targets.
▪ Manage plant productivity to ensure volume achievement as per set targets. Procurement responsibility
▪ Monitor and control of consumables
▪ Raising purchase requisitions for replenishment of required items.
Ensure desired quality of the procured materials and give feedback to the suppliers in the case of Requirements
Qualifications required:
1. Minimum academic qualification: University degree in Engineering or equivalent
2. Qualifications as an added advantage: SAP knowledge and computer suit
3. Professional registration: Be a registered member of engineering professional body
Experience required:
1. General work experience (years): Minimum 5 years
2. Specific to the position (level/discipline/years): Minimum of 7 years of relevant manufacturing
engineering and supervisory experience.
