Insurance Executive – Claims

Role purpose:
- Develop and Drive claim strategy to ensure claims are paid on time
- Complaints management and improving customer satisfaction
- Drive on ground distribution strategy for VodaBima
- Support all VodaBima projects from Product development team to deliverance.
- Responsible for churn management and improving customer renewals
- Develop and maintain good relationship with Insurance partners
Key accountabilities
- Follow-up with customers to submit claim documents on time
- Align with Insurance partners for claims to be paid on time
- Align with all Vodashop and call centre team for proper handling of claim intimation, documentations and claims related queries
- Conduct claim analysis and Reports.
- Responsible for complaints management and improving customer satisfaction.
- Develop and Drive on ground distribution strategy to grow and retain VodaBima customer base.
- Develop and drive the management of the on ground distribution team
- Develop and drive efficient cross-selling & upselling campaigns to increase services usage through micro segmentation and customer intelligence.
- Implement a comprehensive plan for various VodaBima services to ensure a sustainable survival rate.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to improve and uncover insights that will engender service penetration and advise on appropriate interventions plans.
- Develop initiatives to increase customer base
- To coordinate and engagement a close relationship with the Insurance customers
Key performance indicators:
- Growth of VodaBima services uptake by agreed percent.
- Accurate and timely delivery & execution of action plans & initiatives
Core competencies, knowledge and experience
- Excellent analytical and logical reasoning skills translated from consumer insights
- Three years’ Experience in Insurance Claims handling.
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Ability to anticipate customer, competitor and market dynamics
- Able to challenge the status quo
Must have technical/professional qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Actuarial science, Insurance and risk or its equivalent.
- Strong analytical skills and business acumen.
- Build and maintain relationship with key stakeholders in the value chain.
- Telecommunications experience would be advantageous.
- Project management knowledge and experience would be advantageous.

Role purpose:
- To work with IT, and other M-Pesa teams; to support new products developments, product upgrades, configuration changes, Change requests and incidents.
- To work with Finance, Legal, Marketing, Compliance, Customer Service, Sales, Revenue Assurance & Fraud and any other relevant teams for VodaBima related issues.
- Accelerate Insurance growth by enriching the products and service adoption
- Ensure VodaBima Platform fee are paid on time by Partners
- Overall accountability of VodaBima Customers Retention Strategy and churn management
Key accountabilities
- Alignment with Product development team on new development and Sorting all the issuers that requires developments and enhancement.
- Perform competitor analysis and tactical initiatives to address the challenges
- Develop and Drive a strategy to achieve maximum penetration and adoption of VodaBima Products & Services.
- Drive BTL strategy for VodaBima
- Perform frequent consumer Understanding activities and physical visits to learn the behaviour and/or pain points of different customer segments and provide key insights for development.
- Consistent monitoring of the churn, subscribers base, usage and propositions to ensure a healthy customer base.

Cloud Data Engineer

To be confir The Data Engineer delivers through self and others to:
- Load the data from local and group sources onto the shared platforms that are necessary for insight, analysis and for commercial actions;
- Building applications that make use of large volumes of data and generate outputs that allow commercial actions that generate incremental value
- Support local markets and group functions in obtaining business value from the datamed.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
- Design and develop highly performant, scalable and stable Big Data cloud native applications
- Source data from a variety of different sources, in the correct format, meeting data quality standards and assuring timeous access to data and analytical insights
- Build batch and real-time data pipelines, using automated testing and deployment
- Build transformations to produced enriched data insights
- Integrate applications with business systems to enable value from analytic models and enable decision making
- Define and implement best practices relating to cloud economics, software engineering and data engineering to ensure a well-architected cloud framework with data management practices built in to each design.
- Work with the architecture team to evolve the Big Data capabilities (reusable assets/patterns) and components to support the business requirements/objectives
- Research, investigate and evaluate new technologies and methods to improve delivery and sustainability of data applications and services
- Make contributions to the process of defining best practice for the agile development of applications to run on the Big Data Platform
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
- Experience managing the development life-cycle for agile software development projects
- Expert level experience in designing, building and managing data pipelines for batch and streaming applications
- Experience with performance tuning for batch based applications like Hadoop, including working knowledge using Nifi, Yarn, Hive, Airflow and Spark
- Experience with performance tuning streaming based applications for real-time data processing using Kafka,
- Confluent Kafka, AWS Kenesis, GCP pub/sub or similar
- Experience working with serverless services such as AWS Lambda
- Relevant practical working development experience with AWS (or GCP) big data analytics services. This includes AWS Glue, AWS Athena, and AWS Step Functions.
- Working experience with other distributed technologies such as CassandraDB, MongoDB, Elastic Search
- Java and Python programming ability would be an advantage
- Experience in metadata management, data modelling and schema management would be an added benefit.
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- 3 year IT or IS degree or related field is essential
- Degree in Computer Science , IT or Information System
- Relevant cloud certification at professional
- 5+ years BI or related software development experience
- Agile exposure, Kanban or Scrum
