Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality is a former cross-boundary municipality with areas in the Northern Cape and the North-West Province. The municipal jurisdiction consists of 33 residential areas within a radius of approximately 80km in and around Kuruman, and has approximately 75000 residents.
The municipality’s economy is mainly based on the surrounding mining and agricultural activities. The municipal seat, Kuruman, is situated on the Namaquari route, forming part of the main route between Gauteng and Namibia and Cape Town via Upington. The name Ga-Segonyana means small calabash with bubbling water.
Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality in collaboration with the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) Announced the EPWP Youth Graduate Programme for the year 2026.
Available EPWP Positions
Successful applicants will be placed in the following roles:
- Climate Change Ambassadors
- Waste Campaigners
- Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Compliance Officers
These roles are suited for graduates who are passionate about environmental conservation, sustainability, and community development.
Duration and Montly Stipend Allowance
- Programme duration: 6 months
- Stipend: R247 per day
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Must be a South African citizen

Must be a recent graduate (any degree or diploma aligned with municipal functions)

Must be unemployed

Must be aged between 18 and 35 years

Must reside within or near the Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality
