RATIONALE OF PROGRAMME
Since nurses are the foundation of health service delivery, providing training for nurses at the Masters and Bachelors degree levels is one method to improve the quality of health care provided to Kenyans.
The graduates are expected to employ critical thinking skills and develop workable solutions to address the diverse patients’ and clients’ healthcare needs. The combination of gained knowledge, skills, and attitudes will lead to an improvement in the services.
In order to deliver high-quality healthcare that combines curative, preventive, promotive, and rehabilitative health care, the programmes have been created with the recognition that their graduates will have a solid clinical, biomedical, and community health knowledge foundation.
An Act of Parliament governs the practise of nursing as a profession (Cap.257 of the laws of Kenya). This guarantees that strict standards are upheld during practise and training while adhering to professional conduct ideals.
