South African Diamond & Precious Metals Regulator (SADPMR) Announced the Opening of Application window for Start Receiving Application for Internship Programme.the Internship Duration is 24 months which Aim to sharpen youth in audit, finance, and public sector governance.

The South African Diamond & Precious Metals Regulator (SADPMR) was established to administer the Diamonds Act, 1986 (as amended) and the Precious Metals Act, 2005 (Act 37 of 2005). The Precious Metals Act, 2005 (Act 37 of 2005) commenced on 1 July 2007 and Regulations made under the Act took effect on 9 July 2007. These Regulations were amended on 4 April 2008.

The Diamond Exchange and Export Centre (DEEC) was established by the South African Diamond and Precious Metals Regulator (SADPMR), in terms of section 59(b) of Act no.30, 2005 and started operating on the 14th January 2008.

    • Internal Auditing
    • Auditing
    • Accounting
    • Risk Management
    • Related qualification

  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Attention to detail and high integrity
  • Willingness to learn and grow professionally

Eligibility requirements:

  • South African citizen
  • Between the ages of 18 and 35
  • Completed NQF Level 6 qualification or Degree in relevant discipline

Core Responsibilities

Successful interns will participate in core internal audit activities, including:

  • Assisting with internal audits aligned to the annual audit plan
  • Supporting audit planning processes such as risk assessments and process mapping
  • Participating in audit fieldwork and data gathering
  • Preparing audit working papers and evidence documentation
  • Assisting in drafting audit reports, findings, and recommendations
  • Supporting follow-up audits and corrective action tracking
  • Maintaining audit records and performing administrative duties
  • Demonstrating compliance with confidentiality and governance standards

These responsibilities mirror real professional audit roles, giving interns valuable exposure to industry practices.
