About Tanzania Institute of Education

Transfer Job Vacancies at TIE (Tanzania Institute of Education) June 2024 The Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE) is a government institute under the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology established under Act No.13 of 1975 (CAP 142 RE 2002). Its basic mandate is to interpret Government policies on education into befitting curricula, curricula support materials and programmes aiming at facilitating provision of quality education at pre-primary, primary, secondary and teacher education levels. Specific functions of TIE are to:

(i) Design, develop and review curricula for Pre-primary, Primary, Secondary, and Teacher Education levels; (ii) Prepare curricular support materials including textbooks, syllabi and teachers guides;

(iii) Provide in-service teachers training so as to enable teachers implement the curriculum effectively and efficiently; and

(iv) Conduct research on various educational related matters including teaching and learning processes and the general quality of education.

Qualification and experience

Holder of Bachelor’s Degree in Education majoring Theater Art or its equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution with at least a GPA of 3.5 and experience of four years consecutively in teaching at Pre-primary/Primary/Secondary/Teachers Education or higher learning Institution.

Duties and responsibilities

(i) To design, develop and to try out instructional materials;

(ii) To conduct professional training and seminars for tutors and teachers.

(iii) To advise the Head of Department on issues related to subject of specialization.

(m) Office Management Secretary II: (2 posts)

Qualification and experience

Holder of certificate of secondary school education with diploma in secretarial service from Public Service College or any other recognized college/institution who has passed both shorthand (English) and Kiswahili (Hatimkato) at a speed of 120 words per minute with knowledge in computer programs e.g. windows, Microsoft office internet, email and publisher with working experience of at least ten (10) years in related field. Must have sat for and passed Management Development Examination for Executive Assistants Stage II (MDEA II).

Duties and responsibilities

(i) To type letters, reports and documents;

(ii) To receive visitors, screen and direct them to relevant officers;

(iii) To arrange meetings and ensure all documents have been well prepared and circulated to respective members and invitees;

(iv) To keep records and remind the respective officer of appointment, events and other important information;

(v) To keep register of incoming and outgoing files and documents;

(vi) To arrange and distribute papers for the management committee;

(vii) To file all copies of letters originating in respective division/unit in flimsy file for respective division/unit;

(viii) To type minutes of meeting organized by respective officers;

(ix) To respond to general correspondences;

(x) To photocopy required documents;

(xi) To attend to telephone calls; and

(xii) To perform any other related official duty as may be assigned by higher authorities.

(n) Senior Public Relation Officer II: (1 post)

Qualification and experience

Holder of Bachelor Degree in one of the following fields: Public Relations, Journalism, Mass Communication, International Relations, Business Communication or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution with a working experience of at list seven (7) years in a related field.

Duties and responsibilities

(i) To meet TIE Visitors and arrange their accommodation;

(ii) To prepare media programmes;

(iii) To maintain media contacts;

(iv) To arrange for familiarization tours of visitors to TIE;

(v) To perform routine public relations activities such as writing features for the Institute’s newsletter, carrying out photographic assignments and handling advertisements;

(vi) To coordinate information system within the organization;

(vii) To participate in manning indoor and outdoor exhibitions;

(viii) To facilitate conferences, seminars, ceremonies and other events

(ix) To draft press releases and other press statements and;

(x) To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by a supervisor.

(p) Record Management Assistant II: (1 post)

Qualification and experience

Holder of Form IV or VI certificate plus Diploma (NTA level 6) in one of the following fields: Record Management, Archives or equivalent qualifications from recognized institution with a working experience of at list four (4) years in a related field.

Duties and responsibilities

(i) To assist in tracing for records documents and files once required;

(ii) To participate in receiving and registering all documents brought in the registry;

(iii) To participate in arranging documents and files in racks or cabinets in the registry;

(iv) To assist filling in the appropriate files;

(v) To receive, record and distribute incoming and externally created mails;

(vi) To record and arrange for the efficient and timely dispatch of all correspondences and;

(vii) To perform any other related official duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

(i) An applicant must be a Public Servant with a check number;
