Canvas Rutgers can be logged into in two different ways. The steps below explain how to access Rutgers Canvas using your Rutgers NetID or email address:

2. Click the NetID Login button located on the top of the page.
3. Enter your NetID and Password and click LOGIN.
4. When you log in, you will see your Canvas Dashboard.

Step 1: Set up your password

If you already know your password, skip to Step 2

1. Navigate to the Canvas Email Login Page
2. Tap on Forgot password?
3. Enter your email address and click the Request Password button
4. Return to your email account and sign in
5. Open the email Forgot Password: Canvas (The sender is [email protected])
6. Tap on Click here to set a new password link.
7. After you have changed your password, you will be brought back to the Canvas Login Page

Step 2: Log into Canvas

1. Navigate to canvas.rutgers.edu

Enter your Email for the Login ID and the Password from Step 1

How to Submit Assignment On Rutgers Canvas

There are various submission formats available in Canvas for online projects. The kind of online submissions you use is up to the instructors. If your instructor permits it, you might also have the choice to submit tasks again.

1. Access your Canvas Dashboard
2. In Course Navigation, Tap Assignment
3. Tap the name of an assignment to view
4. To submit an assignment, Tap the Start Assignment button
5. Select Submission Type
6. To submit an annotated document, Tap the Student Annotation tab

NB: Group assignments do not support the student annotation submission type.

1. Select the File Upload tab
2. Tap Submit Assignment
3. View Submission

What types of submissions are appropriate for each Assignment will be decided by your instructor. There are four different submission options: text entry, media submission, file upload. Only one submission type may be chosen per submission.

NB: Depending on the assignment submission method chosen by your instructor, all file types might be accessible for your assignment.

How to reset canvas rutgers password for email logins

Rutgers NetID passwords are not affected by the steps below.

A Login ID, as mentioned above, can also be used to log into Canvas in another way. Your email address or Rutgers NetID with a different password may be used for this login option.

You will have to create this unique password. To reset the password, adhere to the steps below.

1. Go to the Rutgers Canvas Email Login, click on ‘Forgot password?‘
2. Enter your Net ID or Email address into the Login ID field. Then click Request Password.
3. Check your email, the email subject is “Forgot Password: Canvas” and the sender is [email protected]. Check your Spam/Junk folder if you do not see it.
4. Click on the link in the email and you will be brought to a page with the below information.
5. After you have changed your password, you will be brought back to the Canvas Login Page. Click on Email Login and use your Login ID and new password to access your account.
