Studying Duration for Nursing School in South Africa
In South Africa, one must possess one of the following educational prerequisites to become a nurse: A candidates and enrolled nursing auxiliary students who completed grade 12 before the current academic year
♠a four-year bachelor degree in nursing
♠a three-year diploma
♠a one-year higher certificate in auxiliary nursing
♠one-year postgraduate advanced diploma in nursing and midwifery on top of your degree or diploma.
Accreditation and registration credentials
Students are subject to the Nursing Act (Act 33 of 2005), their registration in terms of this Act being mandatory for their studies at Netcare Education, and any rights or recourse contained therein are available to them.

National Qualifications Framework alignment
Formal nursing programmes are aligned to the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). As such, they reflect the respective NQF level, number of credits, outcomes and assessment criteria. This ensures that the credits earned by successful candidates could count towards national South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) registered qualifications, and might be considered for recognition of prior learning (RPL), thereby opening opportunities for further learning.
Language of instruction
