The Energy & Water Sector Education Training Authority (EWSETA) is a skills development authority serving the energy and water sectors.

EWSETA’s responsibility is to manage skills development through strategic sector skills planning within the framework of the National Skills Development Strategy III. This includes developing a sector skills plan and implementing the sector skills plan by: establishing learning programmes; approving Workplace Skills Plans and the Annual Training Report; allocating grants to employers, education and training, providers, and workers; monitoring education and training in the sector; registering learning programme agreements; and promoting learnerships and other training programmes.

Marung T, in partnership with EWSETA Is inviting the Unemployed Graduate south African youth to Apply for the Fully Funded EWSETA Water & Wastewater Learnership for the year 2026.

EWSETA Learnership Details

FETC: Water and Wastewater Treatment Process Control Supervision (NQF Level 4)

This qualification introduces learners to:

  • Wastewater treatment processes

  • Process monitoring and control
  • Occupational health and safety
  • Environmental regulations
  • Basic supervision in treatment facilities

Participants learn how water moves through treatment cycles, how to monitor contamination, and how to maintain systems that ensure communities receive safe, clean water.

Who Should Apply EWSETA Learnership 2026 in Water & Wastewater?

Minimum requirements:

  • South African citizen
  • Currently unemployed
  • Aged between 18 and 35
  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate
  • Resident within or near municipalities under Mopani District Municipality

The location requirement is important because workplace exposure and practical training will take place within municipal water systems serving those communities.
