After operating an insurance agency for a while, the bank now embarks into bancassurance business whereby it focuses on widening scope of service delivery on insurance business in line with bank’s vision of becoming The One Stop Financial Centre.
- Review and develop daily operational trading strategies plan for currencies, derivatives and fixed income.
- Explore hedging solutions for the bank and clients in commodities.
- Trade derivatives (FX SWAPS. IRS. OPTIONS) to hedge the Bank’s exposure and to generate Income.
- Manage the Banks Foreign Currencies positions and trading activities to ensure compliance with Internal and External Statutory requirements aiming to achieve FX Trading revenue targets.
- Supervise the preparation of Daily Exchange rates to be circulated before the commencement of busiÂness to branches and other business units for their and client’s consumption.
- Forecast and monitor FX and other Commodities price/rate movements in the market and analyze their implications to the Bank’s proprietary trading positions to ensure that it is in line with the trading strategy.
- Limits monitoring such as Net open Position (NOP) and ensure individual currency overnight limits. Stop-loss limits and daily counterparty trading limits are adhered to by traders.
- Ensure that traders adhere to and all trades are done as per the day’s defined currencies trading strategy.
- Liaise with other market participants and implementing initiatives aiming to develop the fixed income market with compliance with regulations and adoption of best practice standards.
- Review and contribute to the enhancement of the various policies and procedures in line with changing business needs.
- Provide oversight of Risk and Compliance in both market and operational risks
- Preparation and circulation of regular reports relating to the FX and Bond Trading issues while also providing inputs for the ALCO pack.
- Establish, enhance and manage relationships with interbank counterparties both local and internaÂtional including those with brokers and the Regulator.
- Coach/Mentor and develop junior staff aiming to strengthen the bank’s succession plan
- Bachelor’s degree, preferable Accounting/Economics/Business Administration or a related disciÂpline
- Professional Membership with ACl/CPA/ACCA/CFA would be an added advantage.
- More than 5 years’ banking experience
- More than 5 years’ experience in Financial market
- Thorough understanding of banking products and financial instruments.
- In-depth knowledge of Treasury products (FX/Fixed Income/Derivatives & Commodities).
- Well-informed of the market competitive structure, industry practices and regulations for foreign exchange market/Fixed Income /derivative & commodities.

- She/he is responsible for advising and optimizing an efficient Balance sheet Structure aiming to drive annual approved ALM revenue and overall bank profitability goals.
- Project review and develop daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly liquidity management plan so as to meet the bank’s operational efficiency while also apprising the management
- Build and manage the bank’s government securities investment portfolio in HTM and AFS buckets to meet regulatory compliance and generation of income.
- Forecasting and planning of both actual and contingent funding while also offering initiatives on alternative funding sources and structures through critical balance sheet analysis.
- Appropriately guide other stakeholders on liabilities growth while also provide competitive pricing within approved limits aiming to grow and retain the bank’s deposits.
- Management and protection of Net Interest Margin (NIM) while proposing interest rates to be used by the bank in interest sensitive assets & liabilities.
- Forecast and monitor interbank market liquidity trends and interest rate movement and analyze their implications to the bank.
- Ensure strict adherence to both internal and regulatory limits and that all trades are done within counterparty limits.
- Review and contribute to the enhancement of the bank’s various policies and procedures in line with changing business needs.
